Simply, Signing On – Inaugural Post

Pen on White

This is the flagship article for this blog.  I’ve been blogging all manner of topics on another site of mine, Scribe for the Tribe and decided, as much for my readers, as for myself, that it’d be best to create another site with a better focus, so that I can better cater to readers who may be interested in that particular topic.

Scribe for the Tribe will continue to run and, for the foreseeable future, will be about the adventures of raising my baby triplets.

I’ve a great interest in the minimalist lifestyle, but am admittedly, far from that goal right now.  I’m married, with three babies.  I work a demanding full time job as a Project Manager for a global financial institution.  I own six apartment units, front a band, write poetry books and fiction, and am laboring over a new book manuscript.

My nice, small, 1100 square foot home is overrun by books, music, clothing, papers galore to manage all of the above, baby toys, cribs, boppies, pack n plays and swings.

I’ve twice walked away from every material object in my life, only to accumulate mindlessly again.  I’m quite simply fed up and ready for drastic change (and yes, I realize that the decision to start a new blog could be perceived as decidedly un-simple, but I beg to differ; it helps me categorize my thoughts).

The purpose of this site is keep my sanity and document my Holy Grail quest for simplicity in my life.  I’m hoping as I do this to be able to share lessons with you all, both the good and the bad along the way.  This is a site about growth, by removing many of the distractions so that we can concentrate on the things in our lives that make it truly awesome.

Feel free to sign up for email updates in the right hand column of this page.  If you prefer RRS feed, that can be found in the very top right corner of any page on this site.  I promise I won’t fill up your inbox or cause your News Reader to overflow.  Just 2-3 posts per week (remember, simple).  And within the next week, I’ll have an eBook available for free on this site.

It’s that time of year, where many of us start to make plans for the new year.  My next post will detail my yearly self-assessment with my plans for the following year.  It’s a simple, yet insightful exercise that I encourage everyone to take part in.  The longer articles like the Self Assessment will typically be posted on Monday’s.

Welcome, and thank you for reading.

My congratulations on your new blog Charley! I am sure, that’s a great place to start simplifying your life. After all simplicity starts not in our house or office, it starts in our mind. Before we can organize our material possessions we need t organize our thoughts first.
I am looking forward to reading your articles and following your experience of simplified life.

Life surely is complicated but we could simplified it if we know the way how to do it. It’s like you tear the challenges into pieces and burn them into ashes.

Life is life. It’s complicated but the simplified one is better. At this point, I love the term ’simplified’ that you use.

Keep writing dude!
