Modeling Success in Any Facet of Your Life

by Charley on June 15, 2010

At the end of this article, I have a free download for those of you who may be interested in Brainwave Entrainment.  I’ve been experimenting in creating my own meditation tracks and I thought I’d share one of my initial completed tracks.  I assure you, I’ve taken the utmost pains to learn how to create these tracks safely and accurately.  Enjoy!

I can start and end this article with a single sentence.  This one sentence is the key to success in EVERY possible area of your life, from business, to finance, to fitness, to creating a masterful life.

Find people who are successful in the same area(s) that you want to be successful in , people who are really crushing it, and just do what they do.

Not exactly an epic statement, I agree.  But there is more truth in this statement than anything you could read in any book.

Don’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to processes that work.  Just model what all the other successful people are doing.

Sure, you want to put your own twist on things, your own flavor, but the system is there and somebody else out there has created it for you.

There are numerous ways to achieve the success that you want and you need to search out those paths, pick the one that resonates with you now and put it into practice.

Losing weight and getting fit is a popular example to use, only because so many of us struggle with it and it’s something that, if you don’t continuously work at, making it a part of your life, entropy will set in and you’ll find yourself in a very uncomfortable place.

Let’s think about the really popular ways to get fit right now, P90x which incorporates sick workouts with lots of equipment, Pilates, Belly Dancing, Jillian Michaels and the Biggest Loser, Dance Your Ass Off.

There are as many ways to get fit as there are ways to get fat.

What resonates with you?  What do you enjoy doing?

This is critical because you will spending part of your day, several days a week doing this form of exercise and if you don’t enjoy it, then no amount of pleasant mirror gazing is going to make you stick to it.

You have to enjoy the journey.

I’ve tried numerous ways to make money with a home-based business, ever since I got out of College and realized I hated giving up my energy and my control to someone else for a paycheck.  I’ve been out of college for 16 years.  That’s an awful lot of time to try things.

I’ve failed at eBay selling, failed at trading Commodities, failed at selling coupon books, being a direct shipper of craptacular porcelain figurines that everybody and their mother was selling online.

I’ve failed at SMC, failed at buying government foreclosures, had moderate initial success at buying no money down properties but am wondering if I will live to regret it.

I’ve failed at a TON of shyt.

If you ever want a Guru on failure, I’m your man.

It’s funny enough that I have to laugh at myself or I’ll cry.

In every instance, I failed because I did not give it the time and energy it took to succeed.

And there is one reason why I didn’t give it the time and energy…

I hated doing all those f*cking day in and day out things everyday to try and succeed in those particular ventures.

I bought into the concept of a lifestyle, of what it would be like after the money poured in from doing all those shytty day in and day out tasks in a field that was unfulfilling, that didn’t resonate with me.

What’s the point of buying a bunch of No Money Down property?  So I can have the time to do what I really want to do?

The key is to do what you really want to do NOW, and figure out how to get paid for it.

That’s why I finally feel like I am doing something that resonates with me.  I LOVE writing.  More particularly, I LOVE writing about personal matters, about my failures, my successes and my dreams.

And I know I love it because I’ve been writing in offline journals daily for fifteen years.  It’s something where, if I miss a day because life got too busy, I feel out of sorts.

And so learning to actually turn this into a side business has been one of my great goals…but I’d still do this anyway, in one form or another, even if I never made a penny.  But, in all honesty, it is all the more fulfilling to see people comment on the articles, to reach out to readers, to exchange pleasantries with other writers and to make a few bucks out of it.

I’ve made it a goal to learn everything I can about online business, to learn from those who are doing what I want to do and I’ve studied a lot of programs this year already.

The absolute beauty about the internet age, why it is truly a gift from the Gods, is that it has never been easier to find mentors and learn from them for either low cost or without ever paying a dime.

Starting at 10am PST this morning, Everett Bogue of Far Beyond the Stars is re-releasing his Minimalist Business program (Click here to view more details).  I very highly recommend this program and you can get it for $27 for the basic version or $37 for the upgraded version in the first 24 hours of relaunch.  After that, he is setting the price ten dollars higher to the program’s normal rate.  I have used this, Chris Guillebeau’s Empire Building Kit and Karol Gajda’s How to Live Anywhere for nearly all of my blogging and business plan this year.

These are not the only Business programs I’ve worked through this year but they are the one’s that, at this time in my life, have resonated the best with me and I’ve put them to work.

Just for information sake, I’ve paid Everett for mentoring on my blog and I value his ethic, knowledge, and the matter in which he grew his business very quickly just by being honest, helpful, and providing massive value.

That resonates with me and I think the Minimalist Business model is the key to the new era of running an accessible, small business for every man and woman who wants to explore their passions and share their gifts with the world.

Entrainment Audio

I’ve been using Brainwave Entrainment audios for more than a decade and, since it’s a passion of mine, I’ve tried a large percentage of what’s out there.

I wrote an article about Entrainment back in February.

It was only a matter of time before I started creating my own audios.

So here’s a freebie.  It’s a 15 Minute pick-me-up track that’s good for the morning or you can loop it all day if you want.  It uses Isochronic tones so you don’t actually need ear phones.  This one simulates Beta Brainwaves which is good for studying, writing this post, anything that you want to do that requires a good deal of concentration.

This may sound campy, but I have to give the disclosure.  Do not use while operating heavy machinery, or if your pregnant, or subject to seizures (unlikely without the visual components, but still…).  If you’re concerned, talk to a doctor first…which you probably won’t, you’ll just move on without downloading the track.

And the ultra-scary…

By downloading this you agree that you are using this track for recreation purposes and release the artist (that being me) from any liability.

Anywho….Right Click on the track name and select Save As.

Charley, I laughed so hard at your description of all your failures–I have a similar work history and like you if I don’t laugh I’ll cry. Probably a good thing we aren’t sitting a bar and downing beers :)

I’m sure you’ve read this, but I gotta quote Mary Jaksch at Goodlife Zen: “Let go of Negative Stories.” http://goodlifezen.com/2010/06/05/3-secret-principles-of-good-fortune/

We gotta stop thinking of our failures or of ourselves as failures. Of course you must have done so or you wouldn’t be succeeding at writing about your life! As I rewire my own thinking from negative to positive (or at least neutral) stories, maybe I can get somewhere with the writing business, too.
